The client approached us after an unsuccessful planning application for a two storey proposal.  After visiting the site, we thought the building should connect more into the rural landscape, and created a folded grass roof form which subsequently won planning approval.

We worked closely with the client to create a more flexible plan arrangement, which had a separate studio apartment in each cottage, and with connecting doors, allowed the cottages to be adaptable in size.
