Some properties can feel daunting, and it can be difficult to imagine how they could be in the future. Get ideas for your home from some of our recent imaginative projects where we made radical transformations to meet the client aspirations.

This semi detached house in Edinburgh was bought by a couple with a growing young family who wanted an open plan living space to open onto a south facing garden.

We retained and upgraded the structure of the old extension and added on a new double height space with a clearstorey rooflight to help bring sunlight deep into the plan, and giving the space a light bright airy feel. By creating an open plan kitchen, living and dining space it now seemlessly flows opens out onto the south facing garden.

This bungalow in Joppa had a north facing garden which the client wanted to extend into, and from the small attic window had a sea view which needed to be maximised.

By extending deep into the garden the new dining space catches the evening sun, and a new attic dormer creates a room with commanding views across the Firth of Forth.

An old church hall in Kelso was a single storey commercial space with 1.5m level difference between the street and the main floor, and the client wanted to make a family home from the front half, and keep the rear half commercial.

We created a new upper storey by extending the existing roof shape, and following the new ramp, which wraps round the building, into a new courtyard where we relocated the entrance.
